- Be aware that lots of mail/newspapers visible through glazed doors, milk bottles on door steps, windows closed in high temperatures, and closed curtains during the day, are all clues to thieves that no one is at home.
- Install timers to switch lights/radios on/off.
- If you go on holiday, ask for a neighbour to park on your drive, or arrange for a reputable house sitter to take care of your property.
